Gourmet cookie shop franchisee plots two new Dayton locations

The success of a former Ohio State footballer in franchising gourmet cookie shops has led to the opening of new locations in this region. Together, the new locations will create more than 100 new jobs in this region.

By the end of this month, Crumbl Cookies will be opening in Troy Towne Center. The company is hailed as one of the fastest growing gourmet cookie companies in the country. Reggie Germany, a former OSU wide-receiver and his wife Keah will operate the new location. Germany will open a second Crumbl Cookie location in Canal Winchester, along with the Troy location.

Crumble is a bakery that specializes in freshly baked cookies made to order. The menu changes every week with four to five special flavors in addition to its milk chocolate chip cookies and chilled sugar cookie flagships.

Germany opened the first Crumble Cookie in Washington Township at 1530 Miamisburg Centerville Road last year. The location has seen a lot more traffic since it opened. He knew that customers were coming from all directions and that there was an opportunity to expand north and east of Dayton.

Germany stated that 'we would get many people from these areas saying 'we wish there was one up here'. We listened to the people and decided to provide what they asked for.

Troy Towne Center at 1885 W. Main St. was the perfect location for us. It will also be in an area with high traffic, and surrounded by retail outlets including Walmart. The location is currently undergoing renovations to create an open-concept kitchen and provide space for all necessary equipment. Germany anticipates hiring at least 75 people to run the business when doors open.

Germany is currently negotiating a lease to open a third store in Springfield, on Bechtle Avenue. He hopes to open the location in Springfield by 2024's Q1 end.
