Deere foundation donates $7.7M to region in FY 22

John Deere Foundation employees and John Deere employees donated $7.7 Million this year as part of a larger charitable goal. In May 2021 the John Deere Foundation, the philanthropic arm Deere & Company, announced that it would invest $200,000,000 over the next ten years. The commitment will support poor farmers across the globe, as well as families and young people who struggle to access child care and online education. This has been happening since 1948. The Foundation President Nate Clark stated that this year's total reached $7.7million. Deere employees contributed more than $2.2million to the region and more than 3 million dollars in grants. Deere also donated nearly $2.5 million. Most grants are not restricted, so the organizations can decide where and how the money is spent. He said, "When we give, it empowers the non-profit organization. We allow them to use the money in the way that they choose." We see that they can exceed our wildest dreams when we invest in them. The 174,000 Deere employees that volunteered more than 60,000 hours this year are a part of the funding. The Foundation matches $20 for every hour of employee volunteer time. Clark stated that "Our success as a business is tied to the success in our community." The Foundation is thrilled about the match they are giving.
