According to multiple sources, Carlyle Group is seeking to increase commitments to its new main buyout fund. They will help investors in the predecessor vehicle cash out and ask buyers to support the new fund. According to people familiar with the matter, Carlyle Partners VII (or CP VII), a Washington-based private asset manager offers investors the opportunity to sell their holdings and go to investors who specialize in acquiring stakes in secondhand funds.
