ABA Centers of America is moving into the two top floors of the 24-story 110 East Building, located at 110 E. Broward Boulevard. "We are exploring the possibility of adding an extra floor to the building," Barnett added.

He said that the company had already relocated most of its corporate staff from its former headquarters in Lauderdale Lakes into a temporary office on the 11th level "while construction is underway just a few levels above us" for its future headquarters.

The space will also house the ABA Academy of Excellence for the Centers.

Barnett stated that ABA Centers, which was founded in 2020, employs 402 people in South Florida, and 794 more across the United States. According to ABA, ABA Centers also has locations in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, and New Jersey. Three new locations will be opened in Pennsylvania.

According to a report by the brokerage JLL, Broward County’s average asking rent has remained flat at $37.94 a square foot due to rising interest rates. Economic uncertainty and rising interest rates are also slowing down office deals. The report also stated that office space in downtown Fort Lauderdale is leased on average for $51.23 per sq. ft. Downtown Fort Lauderdale has the lowest vacancy rate since mid-2022, at 18% in the first quarter 2022.
